Artist statement: If you're just getting to know me, I'll let you know why this mural means so much to me. Back 2016 I did a huge mural job over in Ireland and the lead painter of our crew berated us for 6 weeks straight. As if working on that job wasn't stressful enough. By the time I got home my heart fire for painting, the one thing I loved most in this world was gone. I tried to struggle through it for a time, taking on jobs and disappointing clients left and right. Ruining friendships for people that vouched for me. I spiraled out of control for 4 years. To say it was heartbreaking for me is an understatement. I felt absolutely worthless. So much so I walked away from painting for 2 years. Did something completely different for work. Gave me a purpose again. Incredibly thankful for my family and friends who stuck by me through that time where I just woke up and wanted to end it all everyday. Happy to be back doing what I love so much. So even in our darkest days this is a wonderful reminder to all of us.
